Here's something you've probably noticed. Grab any family photo from the last few years and count how many of them actually have Dad in them. Or Grandpa.

Chances are he's the one holding the phone. He's the one saying "go on, get in the shot" while he stays right where he is, just outside the frame. Dads and grandfathers aren't usually the ones asking for a photoshoot. And grandfathers especially rarely get to be front and centre with their kids and grandkids all in the one frame.
