There’s something magical about capturing the love and energy of a family, and Nayab’s session at St Kilda Botanical Gardens was nothing short of special. With golden sunlight filtering through the lush greenery, her family of four—her husband, their two beautiful daughters, and herself—created memories that will be cherished forever.
A Birthday to Remember
This session was even more meaningful because Nayab’s elder daughter was turning nine! She wanted to incorporate a little birthday celebration into the shoot, so we planned a mix of classic family portraits and fun-filled birthday moments.
As soon as we set up the cake, excitement filled the air. The birthday girl’s eyes sparkled with joy as she posed proudly next to her cake. And of course, no birthday is complete without bubbles! The two sisters took turns blowing bubbles, their laughter echoing through the gardens as they chased them around. Their bond was evident—playful, loving, and full of pure childhood joy.
Sisterly Love and Genuine Moments
One of the most heartwarming parts of the session was watching the sisters interact. They were full of energy—giggling, holding hands, and sharing secret jokes. At one point, the younger sister playfully tried to steal a piece of cake, which led to a burst of laughter and a spontaneous, candid shot that perfectly captured their relationship.
Their natural connection made for some of the most beautiful photos—ones where you can almost hear the laughter through the image.
A Picture-Perfect Family
Beyond the birthday celebration, we also focused on capturing the essence of their family—warm embraces, stolen glances between Nayab and her husband, and sweet moments of the girls wrapping their arms around their parents. The love they share was undeniable, and every frame told a story of togetherness.
This session was a beautiful reminder of why I love family photography. It’s about preserving genuine emotions, playful moments, and life’s little celebrations. Nayab’s family brought such a joyful energy, and I’m so grateful to have been part of their special day.
